Chery Shows Up at Bogota International Motor Show

On November 9, 2016, 15th Bogota International Motor Show kicked off in Corferias, Bogota. The exhibition is the largest and most influential auto show in Colombia. Chery auto was on display with a strong lineup of nine models, including 15 units on a 660-square-meter red and white exhibition stand, the largest one among the Chinese exhibitors, presenting a visual feast of technology, quality, and brand. Andres Mojica, General Manager of Chery Colombia; Li Nianping, Chinese Ambassador to Colombia; and Dong Wei, Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, attended the exhibition, witnessing Chery's product and brand power in Colombia.

Tiggo 3, the first SUV taxicab in Colombia, was undoubtedly one of the most attractive "new stars". In 2016, Chery delivered 2,200 yellow Tiggo taxicabs to Colombia and was listed in Colombia's taxicab catalogue, thus being hailed as a "business changer in the taxicab field". The Tiggo 3 taxicab was launched on July 13, 2016, and has earned high recognition from the Colombian market with average monthly sales of over 150 units to date.

Mojica announced Chery new model introduction plan and brand strategy plan for Colombia in 2017. He expressed that, based on Chery's "Strategy 2.0" plan of the full upgrading of technology, quality, and brand, Chery Colombia will carry on with the "Fun to drive" brand value upheld by Chery headquarter. In 2017, Chery will build its brand with a higher technology capacity, service capacity, and product power, thus further improving its competitiveness and brand premium in Colombia.

Ambassador Li recognized Chery's development and achievements in Colombia, spoke highly of the role of the Tiggo 3 in improving local public transport and delivering new public services to locals, and expected Chery, relying on the leading brand strength in domestic, to build a bridge of communication between China and Colombia, establish an international business cooperation platform for Chinese enterprises and ambassadors, and further promote win-win cooperation between the two sides.

Chery entered Colombia in 2007, currently has the car parc of 30,000 units in Colombia and has been China's largest passenger vehicle exporter for six consecutive years. Despite the economic slowdown of Latin America in recent years, which has put Chinese brand face a severe test in Latin American countries, Chery, relying on strong product power and penetrating localization strategy, still remains the first place in Colombian auto market share, Chery's all-new models, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 3X, have been launched in China, and are expected to be launched abroad in 2017.
