Recently, Chery New J3 hatchback has been launched in South Africa. Wang Mo, Managing Director of Chery overseas investment Co.,Ltd, Brett Soso, Managing Director) of ADD, Chery’s general agent in South Africa, 25 journalists from South Africa’s mainstream media, as well as 60 distribution network managers and salespersons of Chery South Africa were present at the launch ceremony.
The launch of Chery New J3 has broken the silence of the South African Class-B vehicle market. At the launch ceremony, Brett Soso interpreted New J3’s market potential in South Africa from the overall trend of the South African auto market, its configuration and price, and the accurate orientation of Chery’s new-generation fine family cars. The theme of the launch--“Judge a book by its cover” highlighted New J3’s superior appearance. The rich European style presented by famous European design company, combined with fashion elements, made the body fluid, natural, elegant and impressive.
While enchanting consumers exteriorly, New J3 is also superior in interior, powertrain and other equipment. New J3 is the only model with six air bags in Class-B segment of the South African auto market. Besides, the model was built with a high-rigidity cage body to boost safety performance and outperforms other similar models by its rich human-oriented configuration, making deep impression on journalists and distributor representatives present.
To better display New J3’s outstanding features, following the launch conference, the organizer presented a test drive to offer attendees a personal experience of New J3’s good maneuverability and drive stability. Its human-oriented fashion design also gained recognition and support from distributor representatives, laying the groundwork for future sales. As an outstanding representative of Chery’s fine cars, New J3 is expected to set off a new sales boom of Chery cars in South Africa.
“As a globally competitive medium-sized model, Chery J3 has been available in over 20 countries and regions in the world. With outstanding exterior design, superb safety performance and high-tech powertrain, New J3 will be a better choice for South African consumers,” Wang told the press. “New J3 embodies Chery’s long-term efforts and marks a milestone in its leap towards a higher level. Our cooperation with Chery has always been pleasant, Chery cars have been widely acclaimed by South African consumers, I believe New J3 will have better performance after its launch,” Soso said.
Since entering the South African market in May 2008, Chery has kept ahead among Chinese auto brands regarding Sales volume in South Africa. At 2011 Johannesburg International Motor Show, Chery showed up with a strong lineup of six key RHD models, drawing close attention from local media and visitors. Based on its development in the African market, Chery forged a strategic partnership with China-Africa Development Fund in August 2011, and Chery-represented Chinese auto brands have further intensified their efforts to develop emerging markets in Africa in 2012. Chery took the launch of New J3 to reaffirm its strategy of building fine cars and meet demands of more medium and high-end consumers in South Africa. J3’s market is worthy of expectation.
