On November 5, 2013, Dubai International Motor Show, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, opened at Dubai World Trade Centre. Chery, an auto brand from China, showed up at Hall 6 with a strong lineup of six strategic models covering B, C, D and SUV segments: Tiggo 5, Arrizo 7, E8 (New Eastar), E5, E3 (New Fulwin 2) and New Tiggo.
Huang Jiemin, Chinese ambassador to the UAE and Tang Weibin, Chinese consul general in Dubai were present at a press conference at Chery stand. After Tang Weibin announced the opening of the stand, Huang Jiemin unveiled Tiggo 5 along with Zhou Biren, vice president of Chery and general manager of Chery International. Chery stand drew close attention from crowds of journalists and visitors.
Among the six models exhibited, Tiggo 5 and Arrizo 7 making their debut in the Middle East were most eye-catching. Both were developed on the basis of the iAuto technical platform by Chery's new R&D team consisting of the former senior designers of Ford and Daimler-Chrysler and the former design director of Porsche who are now working on R&D in Chery. Composed of Cloudrive (intelligent entertainment system), ACTECO (intelligent powertrain system) and CHERYSMA (intelligent balancing system), the platform is a more balanced new high-tech, standardized and forward-looking core automotive technology platform created by Chery as well as a representative technical label of Chery.According to sources, Chery has recently launched E5 and New Tiggo in the UAE, drawing close attention from the media and industry. In the future, it will provide joint warranty of "150,000 kilometers /five years" to customers in the GCC.
