On June 19, 2013, Chery held a grand launch conference at Itu Plaza Hotel in the State of Sao Paulo as the second leg of the Central and South America launch tour of New Tiggo, bringing together 65 journals with mainstream industrial media from China and Chile.
The conference was immersed in a warm atmosphere. Led by Brazilian famous band Mr. Kurk. Mr. Curi, vice president of Chery Brazil, took the stage and sang along, pushing the atmosphere to a
climax. Subsequently, Mr. Du Weiqiang, General Manager of Middle &
South America and deputy general manager of Chery International; Mr. Curi, vice president of Chery Brazil; Mr. Hugo Castro M, General Manager of Newco Motors S.A. which
is Chery's distributor in Chile, and Mr. Paul Reyes, General Manager of
Plaza Motors S. A. which is Chery's distributor in Peru unveiled the new
vehicle, implying the success of the joint launch of New Tiggo in the three countries in Central and South America.
Mr. Du showed his strong confidence in the performance of New Tiggo after its launch in Brazil. "As part of BRICS, Brazil has seen the rapid growth of its auto market for five consecutive years, and I think it still has the potential of continuous growth. Since our entry into Brazil in 2009, we have gained unanimous praise from consumers and achieved brilliant sales. Brazil is one of Chery's most important markets and the Brazilian plant is also Chery's largest overseas investment project. Since its launch, New Tiggo has enjoyed global popularity with a total of 250,000 units sold, including 104,000 units in 2012 alone. So we expect much of its performance in the Brazilian market."
While Chery was confident of New Tiggo, the media on the spot praised it unanimously, considering it fashionable in terms of exterior design and humanized in configuration. A journalist who is also a Chery owner highly acclaimed New Tiggo. Satisfied with the headlamp design, details such as multifunctional rear view mirror and storage compartment, as well as the utility of the huge space, she wanted to buy one at the launching ceremony.
