Amid high anticipation from all sectors for Auto China and the CHERY Global Partners Business Summit, Chery Group has delivered another exciting announcement: On April 8 (local time), Chery Group officially inaugurated its European Operations Center in Barcelona, Spain, and simultaneously launched the Chery Spain R&D Institute. As Chery Group’s first overseas regional operation center, it will serve as the central platform for the Group’s European business, integrating operations, compliance, supply chain coordination, finance and public affairs functions, marking a crucial milestone in Chery Group’s globalization strategy.

For Chery Group, Europe is not only a key market in its globalization strategy, but also a strategic hub to drive innovation, enhance core competitiveness, and achieve sustainable development. From January to February this year, Chery Group's sales in the UK and EU markets reached 39,000 units, up 200% year-on-year. In the same period, exports of NEVs reached 11,500 units, up 250% year-on-year. What is particularly noteworthy is that for every 5 new energy vehicles Chery Group exports, 1 is sold to Europe.

The inauguration of the European Operations Center and the Spain R&D Institute this time is the concentrated embodiment of this philosophy. In addition to the European Operations Center, the simultaneously launched Spain R&D Institute will focus on electrification, intelligent mobility and sustainable development, continue to invest in diverse technologies, and align with European standards in data protection, environmental responsibility and compliance. This deep localization model has already borne fruitful results in Chery Group's Spanish EBRO project and Chery Group's active participation in local public welfare initiatives in Spain. In 2024, Chery Group joined hands with EV MOTORS to revive the Spanish national brand EBRO. The cooperation not only revitalized the idle factory in Barcelona, but also created more than 1,000 local jobs, which was praised by the governments and the public of the two countries as "a model of China-Spain cooperation".
