On 22 October 2026, the CHERY Brand Safety Challenge took place at the Longshan crash test laboratory in Wuhu under the theme “Guardian. For Family”. Media representatives, automotive opinion leaders and family users from around the world gathered to witness a real-vehicle crash test that combined a powerful visual demonstration with a message that resonated with families. The TIGGO7 passed the demanding test by successfully completing a 50 km/h impact test with a truck, demonstrating to users worldwide the strength of its body structure and comprehensive restraint system.

Beyond Specifications: Putting Safety to the Test in a Realistic Scenario
In his opening remarks, Liang Yugen, a leader in Chery’s automotive business division, said: “For Chery, safety has never been an optional item on a specification sheet. It is a fundamental requirement in building our vehicles and a prerequisite for entering global markets.” He highlighted that the TIGGO7 series has earned five-star ratings from four major safety assessment programmes: C-NCAP in China, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and ASEAN NCAP in Southeast Asia. These achievements exemplify CHERY’s “In Somewhere, For Somewhere, Be Somewhere” philosophy and fulfil its safety commitment to users worldwide.
An immersive stage performance about family life and a generated short film depicting an outdoor journey took guests on a heartwarming family weekend trip before the story led them to the crash test. The striking contrast between these scenes focused attention on the importance of safety in family travel.

A Live Crash Test Puts Vehicle Strength to the Test
As the countdown ended, the TIGGO7 crash test began. With the roar of an engine followed by the sound of impact, the test vehicle travelled along the track and underwent an actual collision. A live feed on the LED screen brought the force of the moment directly to the audience.
After the collision, safety experts Mr. Jun entered the test area and guided guests through an on-site inspection. The results showed that the eCall emergency call system activated automatically at the moment of impact, immediately establishing a link for emergency assistance. The A-pillars, B-pillars and doors remained intact, with no significant intrusion into the passenger compartment, helping preserve occupant space. The seat-belt pretensioners activated and the airbags deployed precisely, working together as a complete restraint system to provide comprehensive protection for the test dummies.
Owners Worldwide Share Their Stories of Protection
During the “Guardian club” session featuring safety stories from families around the world, CHERY owners shared their real experiences. Some had escaped serious harm in unexpected accidents thanks to the strength of their CHERY vehicles’ body structures, while others had avoided danger with the help of active safety features.
As the closing remarks put it: “Because of Chery, these families still made it home safely on their worst day. That was not luck. It was proven capability. That is Guardian. For Family.” The CHERY Brand Safety Challenge was more than a demonstration of engineering: it communicated the values at the heart of the brand. Guided by “For Family”, CHERY will continue applying rigorous test standards and leading safety technologies to build vehicles that protect families worldwide, helping them reach their destinations safely on every journey.
